Satellite and Service Module (SVM)

The Service Module (SVM) is under the responsibility of Thales Alenia Space (TAS). TAS is also responsible of the construction of the satellite which comprises the SVM and also the Paylaod Module (PLM) shown on the figure below.

The SVM sub-systems include the sunshield, the star trackers and gyros, the thrusters, the micro-motions and slews control systems, with hydrazine and cold gas tanks, the Attitude and Orbital Control System (AOCS), the solar panel and electric power system, the thermal regulation system and the downlink communication system.
