Euclid is a mission of the European Space Agency’s (ESA) – see the Euclid Consortium page – with the goal of understanding why the expansion of the Universe is accelerating and the properties of the dark universe (the nature of dark energy). It is planned for launch at the end of 2020.
The Center for Theoretical Astrophysics and Cosmology (CTAC) at the University of Zurich invites applications for a postdoctoral position in N-body simulations for large scale structure surveys.
Experience in programming, high performance computing and large cosmological simulations analysis is preferred.
The successful candidate will collaborate on projects aiming at preparing the Euclid mission, within the context of the Swiss Sinergia project and the Cosmological Simulations Science Working Group of the Euclid Consortium.
The candidate will be also encouraged to pursue his/her independent research projects in connection with our various groups.
This 3-year position can start as early as November 1st 2017, with a possibility of further extension. Postdoctoral salaries are in the range 85,000-90,000 CHF.
