    Position:Scientific software position at CEA Saclay to work on the Euclid mission

The CosmoStat laboratory (CEA, Astrophysics Division & Electronics, Detectors and Computing Division) is looking for a collaborator in charge of software development for scientific data analysis. You will be responsible for conceiving, developing and integrating scientific codes pre-selected by the ground segment of the Euclid space mission under the supervision of the CNES (Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales). You will work together with scientists responsible for the selection of the algorithms, propose and implement technical solutions to achieve the quality and performance levels imposed by the mission. You will be in charge industrial coding standards as defined by CNES or ESA (European Space Agency).

Working conditions:
The funding covers a total period of up to 3 years, and starting between April and December 2018. This position is restricted to engineers with an engineering diploma or a master degree in computer science/electrical and computer engineering. The salary will depend on previous professional experience. The employee will be located close to Paris in CEA-Saclay, Astrophysical Division, Gif-sur-Yvette, France.

Technical skills:
The candidate should master the C++ programming language and should be fluent in English. Previous experience on computer project management and scientific software development would be a distinct advantage. Previous experience in python programming, UML and design patterns and coding best practices would also be appreciated.

Personal skills:
The candidate should be organized and be able to master computer project management. Good teamwork skills, positiity, adaptability and persistence are expected from the candidate.
